Mission
The mission of the Finance Ministry is to maximize long-term economic growth potential and to promote more efficient use of the nation’s productive resources in order to achieve sustainable growth and a better quality of life for all Chileans, especially for those who are most vulnerable.
Strategic Objective
- Conduct fiscal policy, managing public finances with responsibility, transparency, equity, and a medium-term perspective.
- Reduce the volatility of the economy, in terms of activity, employment, inflation and financial variables, using prevention mechanisms and mitigating shocks.
- Raise potential growth through public and private, local and external investment, ensuring an efficient use of resources and a profitable insertion in the world economy, from a perspective of sustainable, inclusive, gender-equal and environmentally responsible development.
- Ensure a competitive, efficient, stable, transparent and inclusive financial system that promotes local financial innovation that supports the country's path towards sustainable development, low in carbon emissions and resilient to climate change.
- Bring the economy closer to people, recognizing its needs, problems and aspirations, incorporating a gender perspective, a sustainable approach to economic policy and an environmentally responsible vision, consulting options and clearly communicating policy decisions and their rationale.
- Promote efficient, transparent, inclusive management of public sector resources with a gender perspective and that considers the value of ecosystems and biodiversity, using regulations, incentives, technology, data, modernization processes and communication.
